As creative director at Galleri Pictura since 2010, my task has been to create a visual identity and implement it across all media. I invented the position for myself and created a new versatile identity where previously there had been only a dysfunctional logo.
The new concept was finalised around the same time the gallery moved into their current and permananet premises in the main building of Lund University. The brand colours are lighter hues of the colours used by Lund University, whose students run the gallery. The new logo is accompanied by a symbol, which serves to strengthen the brand and really comes into its on on digital platforms. Everyone needs a handy avatar or icon these days, and the multifunctional symbol that derives from the old logo serves as a fifth element in the gallery's identity.
The new identity signals boldness and freshness while affirming the organisation's credibility as an institution that boasts a 150-year legacy.
